Twelve Capital Event Update

Hurricane Debby has been moving through the U.S. during this week, making a first landfall in Florida and a subsequent landfall in South Carolina. For more information on Debby please refer to the Event Summary here.

Other than that, currently there is a region of potential activity in the Atlantic, near the Lesser Antilles that has a 30% probability of forming into a storm over the coming week.

In the eastern Pacific Ocean, Tropical Storm Emilia formed and is moving west away from the US West Coast, where over the coming few days, it is due to weaken into a tropical depression and dissipate. Over the coming week there is a 30% probability that another storm will form off the coast of Mexico.

Tropical Storm Maria is active in the western Pacific, and will make its way towards northern Japan over the coming few days, current predictions have it briefly strengthening into a category 1 or 2 typhoon before weakening upon landfall.
