Hurricane Milton is the 13th named storm and the ninth hurricane of the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season. It was named a Tropical Storm on 5 October when it formed in the Bay of Campeche. It went through rapid intensification, becoming the second Category 5 storm of the season, at one point having a central pressure below 900mbar.
